Transfusion is associated with many bad outcomes. This course discusses the clinical components to create a successful blood management approach to avoid patient transfusion during cardiac surgery.

Course Objectives
1. Compute the cost of a single unit of red blood cells.
2. Categorize three risks and adverse effects of receiving a transfusion.
3. Choose the clinical components to create a successful blood management approach for your patients.
