Description
This is the final class in the four-part series to prepare the learner to take the PBMT exam. Special techniques covered in this class include PRP (Plasma Rich Plasma), Platelet Gel / Glue, stem cell harvesting, and Autologous growth factors. This class will also look at the organizations that are involved with blood management and quality control.
Expected time to complete this module: 50 minutes
By the end of this module the learner will be able to:
1. Identify the organizations responsible for regulating autotransfusion.
2. Name the practitioners in the surgical suite and define their roles.
3. Identify the process of Platelet Rich Plasma, Bone Marrow Aspirate, Autologous Growth Factors, and Stem Cell Harvesting
4. Define the concept of Quality and the procedures to maintain accuracy.
5. Describe Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
6. Identify and describe statistical methods used to evaluate FMEA.
As AmSECT University relaunches its professional continuing education website, we are required by the ABCP to resubmit our application for Category I Self Directed Continuing Education (SDCE) for Category I CEUs. AmSECT University has begun this process. At the completion of your course, your certificate will say “pending one (1) ABCP Category I CEU”. You will be notified to reprint your certificates once approval has been granted.
Per the ABCP, a maximum of ten (10) SDCE I CEUs may be used for professional activity recertification within a three-year reporting cycle. Members may submit additional Category III CEUs.
